Introduction
The key aspect of performance for me is that players enjoy what they do and that they feel free to try things. Ultimately if players are happy in their environment then everything will eventually click into place.
Too many players and environments are too pragmatic or structured which limit the player and I suppose team to grow. Now sure there is a need for structure and a style of play, but the players that really stand out are the ones that:
-Play what they see.
-Take calculated risks.
-Back themselves.
-React to what is happening around them.
-Decisive.
-Not fearful of making mistakes!!!
The last one resonates with probably most players..... MISTAKES! In an ideal world we play the 80 minutes without making a single error, unfortunately, that is never ever likely to happen. The thing that we can do though is learn from our mistakes within a training session / game and adapt our decision making process. Also ensure our next involvement is a positive one and that you do not drop your head as a result of something not going quite as planned. It is vital to not be afraid of making mistakes or trying things, as without risk there is no reward - remember that!
Stay tuned for relevant tips, practices, videos that will hopefully enable you to improve as a player.
